The short version: we store your email address, your name, and the list of tickers on your watchlist. We do not have any information about your actual investments — no share quantities, no cost basis, no portfolio value. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.
Who we are
WealthScout is a personal market dashboard operated as an independent project. If you have questions about this policy, email privacy@wealthscout.ai.
What data we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
- Your email address
- Your Google display name
- A Google account identifier (used only to recognise returning users)
When you use WealthScout, we also store:
- The ticker symbols you add to your watchlist (e.g. AAPL, IUSQ.DE)
- Your preferences: theme, root currency, email digest on/off
- Whether you have a Premium subscription
We do not collect, store, or process any information about your actual investments — no share quantities, no cost basis, no portfolio value, no transaction history.
How we use your data
We use the data only to provide the service:
- Email address: to send you the daily market digest (if you enable it) and service notifications
- Watchlist tickers: to display your personalised dashboard and to generate AI-written insights about the tickers you follow
- Preferences: to remember your settings across sessions
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than operating WealthScout.
AI-generated insights
When you have a Premium subscription, we generate personalised insights using Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. To do this, we send your watchlist ticker symbols (e.g. "AAPL, MSFT, IUSQ.DE") and current market data to Anthropic's API. We do not send your email address or any personal identifiers to Anthropic. Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Session cookie — keeps you logged in. This is essential for the service to work.
- Theme cookie — remembers your chosen colour theme.
- Analytics — we use a self-hosted analytics tool (Umami) to count page visits. This collects no personal data and uses no third-party tracking cookies.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Third-party services
- Google OAuth — used for sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic Claude API — used to generate AI market insights. Only your watchlist ticker symbols are sent.
- Hetzner — our server is hosted in Germany, within the EU.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. If you request deletion, we will remove your account and all associated data (email, name, watchlist, preferences) within 7 days.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are based in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to processing
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Poland: UODO)

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
- Email, name, watchlist: contract performance — necessary to provide the service you signed up for
- Analytics: legitimate interest — anonymous page-view counts to improve the service
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify users by email if the changes affect how their data is processed.
